The South Simcoe Storm U15 AA team delivered a dominant and composed performance to capture the championship at the South Simcoe Storm Classic, held Friday, February 6 through Sunday, February 8, 2026, in South Simcoe.
The Storm opened tournament play in strong fashion on Friday afternoon at the Bradford Leisure Centre Green rink, rolling to a convincing 7–2 victory over the TOP Titans. Later that evening, the team faced a much tighter contest against the Nickel City Cubs at IRC Cortellucci (Red), where disciplined defensive play and timely scoring led to a hard-earned 2–1 win.
Momentum carried into Saturday as the Storm continued their winning ways with a solid 3–1 victory over the North Bay Trappers, once again at IRC Cortellucci (Red). The game showcased the team’s balance, with strong puck management, structured play, and reliable goaltending.
Sunday featured a double-header against a determined Upper Ottawa Valley Aces squad. In the morning semifinal, the Storm battled through a physical and fast-paced matchup, edging out a 3–2 win to advance to the championship game. The two teams met again in the final at the Nottawasaga Centre Ice Sportsplex, where the Storm remained calm under pressure and closed out the tournament with a thrilling 2–1 victory in overtime to claim the title.
Finishing the weekend undefeated, the U15 AA Storm demonstrated consistency, depth, and resilience throughout the tournament. Their championship run was a true team effort and a reflection of the commitment and preparation shown by the players and coaching staff.
