OMHA Champions
Congratulations to the South Simcoe U16AA team on an incredible achievement—winning the OMHA Championships this weekend in Whitby and earning the title of Red Hat Champions!

The team put together a dominant and unforgettable run, going undefeated throughout the tournament against top competition from across the province. It all started with a strong 5–3 victory over Quinte West, followed by an impressive 6–2 win against Markham. The team continued to battle hard in a tightly contested 1–1 tie with Burlington in round-robin play, showing resilience and composure in every situation.

When it mattered most, this group elevated their game to another level. A commanding 7–1 Semi-Final win over Ajax-Pickering showcased their depth, skill, and teamwork. In the Championship Final, South Simcoe faced a tough Burlington Eagles team once again, and in a thrilling finish, secured a 2–1 overtime victory to capture the title.

This championship run is a true testament to the players’ dedication, work ethic, and commitment all season long. From the first puck drop to the final goal in overtime, this team played for one another, demonstrating exceptional teamwork, discipline, and never-give-up attitude.

A huge congratulations goes out to the players, coaches, and support staff for this outstanding accomplishment. Bringing home the Red Hats is no small feat, and this group has made the entire South Simcoe community proud!
